• Listen to the 'liberal-speak:'
"We must tax the obscene profits of the oil companies." Coca Cola has one of the largest profit margins in the free world, I would think that would be the issue as the oil companies are at 9% profit. I would rather pay $4.00 for a coke, or not buy it at all.
"We need to nationalize the oil companies, this would lower the price-per-gallon to $2." I believe this is what the USSR did, where are they now? I listened to Steve Forbes this morning answer that with, "We would then use $30.00 of gas waiting in line for it." Can you name me one country that has nationalized their oil companies that handles them efficiently?
"We can't drill our way out of this," If we drill tomorrow it will reduce the cost of gas by 2 cents in 10 years". We all want a cleaner world, but at what cost (National Security, another Great Depression)? Maybe the Obama campaign will give every family one of those new Hybrid cars from Brazil so we can get rid of our nasty SUV's? Oh wait, that country is free from foreign oil imports because they chose to drill off shore. You won't find that information in the liberal blogs. ," We can't drill for oil, the radical environmentalists would abandon us; OOOP's, sorry, I threw that one in.
• As a final note: I think you will find that most people in Alabama (actually the country) work for small to medium sized companies. The family down the street is the owner or partner in one of those companies, not the greedy [?] corporate giant the liberal base is always trying to demonize. They care about profit, sure, but they also care about their employees. If we are constantly being told that the "Sky is Falling" they are afraid to hire more people even when they need them. Why, because they care about the present employees and want to stay in business and continue to provide that livelihood for the families that work for them. It's called "The American Way." There is a special on the Fox News Channel tonight at 8:00PM Central time, "America's Future: Do we have enough Energy" that I'm sure will be worth watching.
