His father, Keith Stansell, was one of three American contractors freed Wednesday in a high-stakes Colombian operation that also liberated former presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt.

Traffic tickets to rise $17.50 to help bail state. Other court fees also increase.

TALLAHASSEE — Drivers thinking about racing out to find the final few gas pumps with prices under $4 might want to think again.
Starting Tuesday, tickets for speeding, rolling through a stop sign or committing any other traffic violation will increase by at least $17.50.
Gov. Charlie Crist has signed off on more than $200 million in fee increases this year. Lawmakers approved them to plug some of the state's $6 billion shortfall since 2007, according to the state Office of Economic and Demographic Research.
Of the new fees, $137 million will come from steeper court costs, $15 million from more expensive driver license renewals and about $4 million from environmental and drinking water fees.
