'Pulpit rebellion' misses mark By Cal Thomas The Oklahoman 9-30-08
HOUSTON — There is no telling how many churches actually participated in "Pulpit Freedom Sunday,” an event designed to challenge the government's restriction on political pronouncements from the pulpit.
Editor's Note -- Which ever way this challenge falls, it should fall equally on the liberal churches. We all know that the liberal churches have their politicians give speeches from the pulpits of all their churches every year. No one takes their IRS privilegs away. When churches can't speak up against abortion and other issues the scriptures speak against, then I don't see why the conservative churches should be solely picked piy as going against the law. If something is in God's Word, then minister's should be able to preach on it - even if it does not sit well with Cal Thomas or those with the Separation of Church and State. Keating says Cheney was responsible for news leak The Oklahoman 9-25-08
TULSA - Former Gov. Frank Keating says in a new book that he thinks Vice President Dick Cheney leaked news of a cash gift from a retired New York financier to Keating's family.
Editor's Note -- Keating says that he "thinks" Cheney leaks the news of the cash gift. I guess Keating wants everyone to know that he took money he shouldn't have taken in the first place. Does everyone have to tell everything they "think" after they leave office? It seems so!
